About Church Cottage Millthorpe
A historic village cottage for slow weekends, shared meals and easy access to the best of the Orange Region.
Set in the heart of Millthorpe, Church Cottage is a warm and character-filled stay made for families, friends and guests who want to experience the charm of village life without giving up the comforts of home.
Dating back to the 1890s, the cottage has been thoughtfully kept as a place to gather, rest and settle in. Think slow mornings by the fire, dinner around the table, kids on the lawn, a short stroll into the village, and a weekend that feels like it belongs to another pace.
Church Cottage sleeps up to seven guests across three bedrooms, with two queen rooms and one room featuring a double and single bed. There is a dining table for eight, a full kitchen, Wi-Fi, dedicated workspace, off-street parking and a large level grassed garden for games, afternoon drinks or simply doing very little.
In winter, the cottage comes into its own. Gas ducted heating, bedroom radiators and a slow combustion fire make it the kind of place you want to return to after a day exploring cellar doors, country pubs, local stores and the wider Orange food and wine region.

A note from your hosts
Welcome to Church Cottage.
We’re Pania and James, and Church Cottage is our little love letter to Millthorpe, a village that won us over with its quiet streets, old stone buildings, country hospitality and slower pace of life.
Like many people, we came here looking for a place to pause. What we found was something much more special. Millthorpe has a way of making you breathe a little deeper. You can wander out for coffee, spend the afternoon exploring cellar doors and local stores, book a long lunch, then come home to light the fire and settle in for the evening.
Church Cottage is our way of sharing that feeling with you.
We wanted to create a stay that felt thoughtful, comfortable and easy from the moment you arrive. Somewhere you can unpack properly, cook a meal, pour a glass of local wine, let the kids run around the garden, or curl up by the fire after a day exploring the Orange Region.
We’ve stayed in plenty of places ourselves, and we know it’s often the simple things that make a weekend feel special. A well-stocked kitchen. A table big enough for everyone. Warm bedrooms in winter. Space to gather, but also space to retreat.
Church Cottage is a home, not just a house. It’s a place for slow mornings, shared meals, muddy boots by the door, village walks, good wine and the kind of weekends you wish could stretch a little longer.
We hope you love your time here as much as we do.
Pania and James xx
